With this cable and suitable Tait programming Software (Windows version) you can do things like add channels, adjust RX sensitivity, adjust TX power, adjust squelch levels, adjust advance options, and more. 

This cable has a FTDI chip built in for quick Plug'n'Play setup, unlike other cheap direct-connect cables without the correct circuitry, this cable can not damage your radio or computer.
